can we augment our online chats with new affordances?
what does a conversational medium that supports *thinking* look like?
Is there a pathway from the linear, one-dimensional, immutable logs we call "online conversation"?

As I continue pondering this, it seems to me like its development will likely follow a similar trajectory as
@RoamResearch... 1. basic idea already solid. 2. a lot of iterating (years?) on tweaking the interaction design, with little real usage 3. alpha testers who GET IT 4.

Im also considering open source trajectories, just because I know they will exist either way and
@tangjeff0 will crush me

Yeah, though open source too early could make it really easy for the original* concept to get diluted by people carting in truckloads of their old metaphors. *original here means both: - new, not seen or done before - the origin of the genesis of whatever new project

good to keep in mind, particularly feature creep. That said I think it could be beneficial to *restrict* pull requests but *allow* forks, so if the +1 feature turns out to be killer, it can be merged. It's what's happening in crypto right now (slow,tedious,diluted,but monotonic)
