In music production you eventually learn/discover all these earwormy tricks like, "Don't fade by reducing the volume, fade by narrowing the spectrum." Which podcasts use these tricks? (Radiolab, ...) What earwormy tricks do podcast producers eventually learn/discover?

Finally got around to listening your latest episodes. I usually listen to podcasts with at least 1.2x speed, voice audio boost, and trimmed silences and this thread makes me wonder if I've been missing subtle bits. I'll definitely listen normally for Orca.

FWIW — I usually listen to podcasts at 1.5x speed with Smart Speed, but no Voice Boost (because... I have disagreements with Marco about how you should do DSP, and Voice Boost 2 makes some shows way harder to hear because of the way his custom dynamics compressor works).

Another note... something I've struggled with is.. how to pace the edits I make so that they sound natural no matter which speed you listen at. I'm so used to listening at 1.5x speed that when I edit (which I choose to do at 1x), I always make things too fast! Still learning.

The 1x speed was excellent, it was well paced yet didn't feel sped up
