If they ever buff or nerf covenant abilities or soulbinds they should allow people to swap for free for a day or two following the patch similar to Hearthstone letting you dust cards for full value everytime they are nerfed.

I wouldn't even do it for a day or two, if they've been changed since your last login it should reset them or something so you're not forced to log in or miss out
