Guilds still take hundreds of attempts on nzoth months later when the boss is 17 mannable. I think blizzard did a good job of designing that boss to have lasting difficulty. Very few bosses stand up like that after this many nerfs.
That being said a cool mode in wow would be what FF14 has. Allow guilds to queue pre nerf nzoth with the gear we had for a challenge to see if they can kill it or how quickly.
And before anyone makes the bad argument of echoing void making our/methods boss easier. It was ~5% of our overall raid damage. Next week they nerfed the boss by 5% health, however you could equip your next best corruption. The boss was significantly harder that week.

they kind of had that in wotlk where you could disable the % zone buff, if I remember that correctly. hardly anyone did that. so not sure if that many would be up for this. after we had hundreds if wipes, I doubt I could motivate people to wipe some more on the fight.
It depends on the boss how this would play out tbf, that mode for blackhand would just result in most people going "wtf is this dmg check i never wanna try this ever again" Cool option tho but i doubt i'd be used by many different individuals unless theres REALLY cool rewards
It would only ever be worth anyones attention if it had some sort of reward, mount/title or smth.
It was pretty cool seeing groups stream minimum ilvl raids to prep for the upcoming ultimate release when that was current
