I mean even if you didnt win, its not like anyone is required to do that shit. I don;t understand people who think you have to absolutely maximize earning loot weekly.

Lots of people are still on prog / pushing top end m+. Others just want to maximize their damage output. Personally I get enjoyment from upgrading my character and pushing it's potential. I don't think anybody expects people to farm echoes unless you're one of those two

Ppl farmin echoes bcs their bis corruption will be there once per TWELVE weeks which means that they have probably only one chance to get them till the prepatch arrive
