Bow needs a lot of good/rare decos to get up and going and doesn't have much room for defensives. High DPS once you have them all. HBG is one of the highest dps and tankiest weapons in the game but has 0 mobility. LBG has really good damage, utility, and very mobile. Not tanky.

DB and Bow both use elements so you never have one set of gear. DB is fast and flashy, good damage. It's a stamina management melee weapon. Easy to play. I don't play LS but I hear it's really beginner friendly.

Play insect glaive because you can fly around and mount the monster all the time, it's the most fun thing to do in the game

Charge blade, a lot of fun, versatility switching between a quicker more defensive sword/shield and a hard hitting slow elemental axe. Difficult to combo or quickly take down some monsters due to not being fast enough or not hard hitting enough

Even though it's my main weapon and I love it. I prob wouldn't chose Lance, your indestructible and it has fun counter play but can get pretty dull. I'd say hit the training yard and try each weapon out and see what you like.

Charge Blade is objectively the coolest weapon type in the game. Hammer is for unga bunga.

I use insect glaive because it's one of the only weapons I feel like works well against any monster. You have so much mobility and different strengths and if played well you can do so much dam with it. It also looks sick to be flying around spinning your glaive like a madman!
