And the counter argument really wasn't that great. You're an Azerothian in the afterlife working amongst all these Covenant factions. You'd happily use every advantage you can, rather than just the stuff your Covenant is about.
that answer to the covenant question is very disheartening. there is no way the abilities or Covenant specific legendaries will be "balanced" to where you wouldn't want to constantly swap covenants.

Who even wants covenants? Why does every expansion now have to have an unwanted flavor forced upon us? Cosmetics and stuff would be nice, but when I play a shaman I have no interest in holy/bloody/bony/druidic abilities. People will just take mathematically superior one anyway

What if you could grind (or get in some other way) for certain items that would allow you to 'lend' power from one covenant for a certain amount of time?

I understand where he's coming from talking about the RPG aspect and making choices meaningful. I respect he's trying to find balance before scrapping. Tough position to be in. Sucks to be both sides, a dev, and a player knowing the chance of balance is very low

I think the point he was trying to make was like in fallout you make you character strong in certain points so you are going to do content towards those points cause thats the RPG style of the game. I don't agree with it but I THINK that's what he was trying to say. he said a lot

But thats not how people play WoW. No one does just ONE type of Content. And even if it was M+ or Raids. Tyrannical Week you might want ST covenants and bosses like Carapace you need the AoE Covenants.
