If they make covenants hard to swap with them being clearly geared towards certain aspects of the game (m+, raiding, PVP) that will be one of the biggest dev mistakes I can remember.

Who would be "incentivated" to play multiple characters of same class? Why? The niche top players who need to play everything for their race?
-
Nah, I enjoy all 3 major aspects of the game and play incredibly (embarrassingly) casually as in 1800 rated, haven't done a +15 all xpac, don't even have a raid team, and yet I still want to have the BiS whatever. It is a mental thing. People want the best and that isn't bad.

I do love casuals saying mythic raiders shouldn’t be complaining about being forced to pick one. It’s their choice to play the game hardcore.

If they still want it to be meaningful, they can just have the swap be on a 2 or 3 day CD or something, so you're not changing it "per boss" but you can have your raid covenant during the week, and your m+ or pvp or whatever covenant on the weekend.
-
I'd rather see 3 - 4 charges weekly rather than an actual CD, if going this route. That way if you only play a couple of days per week, you can do your M+ and your raiding and your PvP in the same day (if you need to swap).

actually would be fine with this if raiders, PvPers, and m+ players never have to do other types of content they don't like for upgrades.
