how would you feel if they were only open world abilities and passives so no impact on raid, M+, PvP but did effect the world questing etc

Remember that while one covenant might gear towards one area, the soul binds could go to another. So pick a covenant that isn’t that great for m+ but the soul binds are BiS for it

Oh this is a good point. So if they intentionally make it so the BiS covenant ability and BiS covenant soulbind for a specific aspect (m+, raid, pvp) will never be the same covenant. That’d be an interesting way to balance.
