Yeah, the balancing act of maintaining a manageable corruption level is potentially so good if - and only if - you have access to a wide range of pieces across all three ranks. I suppose that’ll come in time.
I actually feel like corruption is so close to being a sick system they can build off of next expac. Its just wild aquiring it at the beginning, same flaw different system(Legendaries, Azerite)

i would almost rather have everything drop corrupted and just be flooded with pieces and get to cherry pick the good ones and cleanse the rest...other then items traded to me i still havent had a corruption piece drop for me other then the initial quest line

It’s been the constant problem really since MOP great ideas but always doesn’t really work out until the end and people stop caring. I really want blizzard to take their time with shadowlands I would be fine if it didn’t come out until Dec if it meant great content and balance

Agree, Blizzard not learning from their mistakes is a concern. These systems share the same scarcity factor early on, that is the *worst* time to limit access.

I wish it was just blue, but the shadow damage...it’s impossible to mitigate at this point in the game with high corruption pieces bc the mitigation mechanic is time gated. Like wtf. I have like 3 pieces I won’t be able to wear until spring.

If they were going to gate content this much, then rank 3 corruption shouldn't exist until much later. Possibly coming out with 8.3.5 (or the time that patch was going to be released since it's now cancelled).
