Here's an opinion: Accountwide essences won't make you play your alts. The classes are just not fun.

Have multiple alts with 60+ necks and only one essence. This time in legion I had so many characters I could push keys on, raid on, and pvp on. Now I am burnt out from doing the essence grind on my two main toons
-
I feel like power creep of new stuff and how easy they are to get makes the community have absolutely zero compassion towards under geared alts. You're just bound to your grind alone and begging for key carries for a few weeks until you're finally ready..

There's also people like me who raid with their main but my alts are mostly for pvp only. I loved legion for that, never needed to leave dalaran on them. Even if the class is boring, I still enjoy that. In BFA that's impossible, AP lvl, traits and essences.

I’ve been grinding my essences on my alts since nothing else to do. The grind isn’t that bad about 1 hour a day between nazjatar and mech. Brawl last week helped. It just sucks having to do this for 5 and 6 time and isn’t fun. This doesn’t even include benthic.

I quit because the grind was just too much, if you fall behind at all it takes weeks and weeks to catch up because of resets. F*×* that. Let us hard grind something again sometimes you're just in the mood to hard grind out through killing stuff, dungeon farming etc. The caps suck
-
Then on top of that the whole necessity items having to have a specific item for specific bosses that you can only get from rep grinding stuff that is on a weekly "soft cap" it just feels dumb and nonsensical

11x120 here, if alts we're easier to maintain I would play them more for sure
