MW vs druid, monk has an HPS cap and always has. Druid doesn't so even on pure throughput Druid generally will come out on top just because of that as well as druid can scale with any secondary and MW can only use Crit/Vers
The main problem with mist weaver is if you take throughput out of it pally/shaman/priest just destroy Druid/ monk in what they do on a fight(dr cds, better damage ect) a mist weaver/Druid needs to actually be destroying other healers in throughput to be considered top tier.

All healers have an HPS cap, not sure what you mean. Also mistweavers scale with all stats too

MW/Druid/Hpriest too all need to be the highest throughput healers to compete with disc/pally/sham

There are a couple ways to handle this besides homogenization. One is to give legitimate unique mechanics that make a class do more healing in specific situations. This is very hard to do but IS possible (see Deep Rooted, the druid artifact ability, on Fallen Avatar). 1/x

The other is to make the movement ability of mistweavers and druids actually very important, and specifically something you need from a healer. In both cases you need careful and intentional encounter design and tuning to go hand in hand with class design 2/x

I don't think the answer is to give druids damage or whatever, but Blizzard does need to actually be intentional to make all healers valuable. Sad to say, it seems after Legion they went in the opposite direction from that :/ 3/x

Hard to do anything with druid when they are dominating everything but mythic raiding.
