Extremism was already on the rise before Trump, but he has turbocharged it. With his reactionary agenda and his unhinged attacks on Democrats as traitors and criminals, he is ushering in the rise of a new class of radicals who will play by his rules. Me:https://wapo.st/2yRCVu3

Serious question: how did moderate Germans try to stop the rise of Hitler? Let's do the opposite of what they did.

They did nothing. They didn't see the danger - thought could vote him out next time. Then every aspect of society was infected with poison and hatred. That meant you couldn't trust others. So no resistance possible. Silence, apathy and outward conformity helps dictators.

Surely the term "Red Wave" couldn't be misinterpreted as encouragement or coopted by the angry extreme as all this moves forward. Right? Right?! ::whimper::

(In the end, I fear history will consider the most damaging aspect of Trump's Presidency to have been his implicit and explicit permission to his supporters to be act out their anger and to embrace violence. Policy? SCOTUS? International relations? No. It'll be this.)

Cortez isn't playing by his rules at all. She's remarkably literate and quite civil. She just has different political views. Ones that, apparently, the people of her district agree with.
