I regret to report that our economic model is so broken that the incentive structure of the media is to cater to business guys who do not like to read.

Acting just enough like a journalist to have plausible deniability for gullible pundits is right-wing media's entire thing and has been for 40 years and every time I write something like this some bro slaps his dick on my desk all YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND and my good bitch really.

Every single time thereโs a mass layoff at a media company, there should be an accompanying chart of what every single executive at said company makes, and whether they got any kind of bonus, perk, or raise in the last three years. EVERY SINGLE ONE.

This is vile: In Tennessee, a teacher planned a Mother's Day lesson that was sensitive to kids without moms. Activists smeared her as a groomer. The lesson was canceled.
Incredibly, one of the books they objected to is about a bear who raises goslings!

8. With the writers strike, as with magazines, the studio argument against compensating writers fairly is that if they do, they won't be able to keep doing the thing they've been doing, which also happens to not even remotely work.

3. In the process, magazines (and many papers) trashed their brand equity, exhausted their workforces, bored/insulted their readers, and created a situation where the only people who could afford to write for them were people who donโt actually need to work. (That's bad.)

1. As a member of the and a former magazine guy, I see nauseating similarities between what happened to mags and the situation in Hollywood. Magazines took a profitable business, and, confronted with the growth of digital newcomers, started producing way more content...
