The worst case explanation here is not that Boris wants cheap 5G for the UK, or minimal disruption to UK networks already flooded with Huawei gear. The worst case is that the much-feared eavesdropping has already happened, and blackmail is happening behind the scenes.

A woman has come forward to claiming she was paid $150 to hold signs in support of Meng Wanzhou outside court yesterday. I have verified her identity as one of the people there. She didn't know about case. Tells me she is ashamed & embarrassed:

"The resolve of the Chinese government to protect Chinese citizens' proper legal rights is firm and unwavering," says foreign ministry spokesman, Geng Shuang. Wouldn't it be nice if this also applied to the poor & poorly connected in China? Or to Xinjiang? Or foreigners? Or...🤔

Meng is NOT "the highest profile target of a broader U.S. effort to contain China and [Huawei]" - she is a rich corporate exec charged with bank and wire fraud. There, fixed it for you, Bloomberg.

A phase-2 deal will never materialize if the US insists China stop subsidizing companies. China believes a state-centered eco model is necessary politically and desirable economically. The US needs to determine how best to compete with this and then do it.

Don't look to universities for moral leadership. They're in the business of making money, whether non profit or not. Big donors always get their way.

Beautifully worded. Looks like I picked a good year to skip But let's not forget that CES is like any other big tech show - many speakers get their slots by paying for them, in one way or another.

Am I the only person who, upon clicking on an intriguing headline discover it's a video or an audio podcast, navigate away? I'm a throwback but I find the written word unequalled as an efficient conveyor of information. I have no idea how to skim a 60 minute video.

The more I read 's Shanghai agreement (Q2 10-Q), the clearer it is that the CCP owns everything there, including 's IP. Check out the "Business Description" part: the CCP gets access to all IP related to EVs, parts, batteries, energy storage & solar technology.

Huawei's 2019 PR strategy has been nothing short of a disaster. I would look for them to re-evaluate in 2020, but then again the messaging is coming from the top. And I don't mean Ren.

⚠️Thread: I often see people use the term "Russian bot" and it drives me crazy, so I decided to write this thread to help debunk some of the myths. 1. The term Russian bot is overused and often wrong. Many inauthentic accounts we see are not from Russia and they are not bots...
