I don't have any actual knowledge, but I doubt he's raycasting. He has complete information about the VR environment, there's no reason he can't just duplicate it. Pasting the copy so cleanly is the real magic trick.

Thanks! Yeah, the original version was just a visual trick and couldn't be interacted with. I pretty much rebuilt it from scratch but I'm much happier with it now. I definitely want to make it into a game
