Trying to estimate what size boards, and therefore what size module, this circuit is going to require. Looks like 24HP is going to be big enough. That should be reasonable for a complex oscillator, right?pic.twitter.com/vFdhnoJQtD

Man, if I have to sit through another breathlessly passed-around infographic that splits the word "coronavirus" into two and adds a random capital. We are not facing an outbreak of Mexican beer, kids!pic.twitter.com/9D6vX7OTIA

I think this is the end of the line for the constant-charge-reset sawtooth core. I've got it oscillating nicely on the stripboard, but it still doesn't cover the range, and is intrinsically vulnerable to locking up. Fixing that would mean more complexity than I want.pic.twitter.com/Ii20ESOKYg

The use of the word "enlightenment" in that is interesting and I wonder if deliberate; makes me think of what
@meditationstuff and them types of guys have written about the time/money cost of Buddhist-style enlightenment.pic.twitter.com/1RhyITkmN9

Good grief! While going over the breadboard to plan out the layout for the soldered stripboard version, I found that these transistor collectors which were supposed to go to +9V were actually not connected to anything! Interesting that it worked at all in that case.pic.twitter.com/svLmiTWobd

redesigned core looks good when it works, but still very wobbly, and can get locked in a stable non-oscillating state. Much intermittancy with the breadboard, and I think I have to build a soldered one to get a proper test.pic.twitter.com/lIb2d884Ir

So rolling back "the change in design" means only the unimportant part, conspicuously NOT rolling back the specific thing that people objected to. That's near a Twitter or post-sale Livejournal level of contempt for users.pic.twitter.com/Adn5zm2SHh

Well, after some more breadboard work, I think this design is just too ambitious. The right-hand op amp is trying to do several things at once; they conflict with each other, hence the instability. I think I'll add a third op amp, which will allow separating the functions.pic.twitter.com/106SMkTNlx

Re-watching New Game! and New Game!!. I'd forgotten what a creep Hazuki is. The shows started airing in 2016, recent enough for it to have been sensitive subject matter already - but maybe less so in Japan, and maybe somebody thinks her being a woman makes a difference.pic.twitter.com/IKXV72RzFm

The exhaustive-list issue again, which I wrote about in https://ansuz.sooke.bc.ca/entry/351 . There's a school of thought that says a law only applies to cases it specifically lists; and that way of thinking is growing, and it sounds like it may have spread even to lawmakers.pic.twitter.com/8pHbgivZ3t

However, one thing I'm pleased about is that the reset pulses, when it's working at all, look just like the ones in the simulator. Again I'm impressed with how well the simulator predicts reality.pic.twitter.com/83XTWg86Aw
