I think you're misreading this result. At least anecdotally, my social media streams are filled with liberals who feel optimistic that Trump, a malignant narcissist, might take covid seriously now that he's infected. We need him to lead, and maybe now he will.

When he recovers, maybe he'll appreciate the science that made it possible. And maybe - just maybe - then he'll stop taking the advice of a quack radiologist in time to save some lives.
