When the media unfairly accuses Trump of something, we are aiding his attempt to undermine institutions—and reinforcing his “fake news” narrative. Don’t help undermine the First Amendment!

If this would have lasting consequences, Trump's approval ratings would not be over 40%.

I tweeted exactly the same thing and it was liked by MAGAs 😬 Can only assume they’re unable to understand nuance.

*His* attempt to undermine institutions? The media is doing that by themselves. Trump is calling them out on how they are undermining these institutions. About time this has a widespread callout.

Because when he says "[t]hey're animals," it's important to note to whom "they" refers. If he was referring to MS-13 (likeliest scenario), then it doesn't make the headlines. But they're reporting it as though he was referring to all immigrants. This isn't complicated.

You & I likely disagree abt what's "unfair." And I, ofc, am right abt that. But you're right abt this. In life & all things, an accusation that needs stretching is red meat for the base & only makes those you need scratch their heads. An understated accusation carries weight.

Matt the media is doing a terrible job at keeping people informed about all the issues happening concurrently. The talking head experience has replaced hard news where you linearly see all the issues at one time.
