Interestingly, lot of the things people were saying about Robert Jeffress yesterday could have been said about *any* orthodox Christian. https://thebea.st/2rHM3e7?source=twitter&via=mobile … via @thedailybeast

Orthodox? By what definition? My understanding is that being orthodox is to agree with the creeds, Apostles Creed & Nicene Creed.

This is a confusing definition given that there's an Orthodox Church which is its own thing

It’s a standard way of speaking about all Christians who hold to traditionally established Christian doctrine. Very common

I'm up on interdenominational standard ways of speaking, and I stand by my point. If you say orthodox Christian (as opposed to Christian orthodoxy, say) you're either running into the eastern Orthodox or pretending they don't exist

That is absurd and not the way any serious scholar uses the word orthodox. Capitalism is important. But I’m guessing you don’t actually care.

Capitalism like as in G.K. Chesterton? Wrote a whole book called orthodoxy and he didn’t mean the east or Greeks

That line about the way/truth/life doesn't necessarily mean others aren't saved. There are hermeneutics in some circles that tackle it

In fact, this is kinda funny, Orthodox Christians are prob least likely to say others are damned. Their views on hell & judgment are rad

replace 'orthodox' with 'evangelical', and you're spot on. You're confusing the two..
