If Blankenship wins, Trump and McConnell should try to strike a deal with Manchin to caucus with Republicans in exchange for their support.https://twitter.com/chadpergram/status/993609646677135360 …

He's got that Scott Brown-leverage going for him though. Tough to imagine wanting to give that away.

It’s the combination of the fact that while they have plenty of disagreements, they seem to actually like each other, that does it for me.

Manchin holds the stronger position. He really doesn't need there support in the general. They on the other hand would have to distance themselves from Blankeship. Interesting game of chicken

Bet many WV voters Tues will resonate with the Shawshank Andy Dufresne vibe of an ExCon who crawled thru 100 yards of Obama’s DOJ s*** & came out to Bitch Slap Warden Mitch. Get to voting for ExCon Don WV... or get to dying with RHINOS or Manchin....to paraphrase Red?

Bingo. If Blankenship comes out on top today, Manchin will be in an incredibly strong position going into November. GOP loses one of their biggest pickup opportunities, and keeps the Dems much closer to a working majority than they had been. No incentive for Manchin to deal.
