Not only does Trump's behavior change our level of tolerance for this kind of behavior in real time, it also invites the next president (regardless of party) to act this way too down the road.https://www.thedailybeast.com/the-damage-of-trumps-low-bar-presidency-is-worse-than-you-think?source=twitter&via=mobile …

I'm sure that if that happens the media will rise up again and spend the four years of that administration in a constant effort to sabotage every effort by that administration to succeed. Well, unless he's a democrat.

I think the greatest harm was done by thinking too highly of Presidents. Save for Hamilton & some in his corner, the FFs look across tables at each other expecting - at any time - the minuscule power they’d been given would suddenly transform one of them into a baby-eating Nero.

What about the media’s low bar they are setting? Funny, I never hear a thing about that from you Matt. Why not???

Exactly. It's much easier to lower the bar than to raise it back up once you've dropped it.

For Republicans this is definitely true. Democrats are in a very different ideological position (always have been?).

What’s worse Matt? After all we’ve seen, heard, and witnessed 24/7 for almost 2 years, you’re ok with what obstructs our duly elected POTUS? Our 2 party system? Our MSM? Obama, Hillary, DNC, DC, MSM, FBI, DOJ are all perceptions. And you bought it.

Yeah, plowing the help in the Oval office and lying under oath set such a high standard that it's been hard for subsequent Presidents to live up to such a fine example.

Agree. DJTs lasting legacy may be lowering the level of public discourse and a blatant disregard for actual facts.
