McCain's legacy would be in better shape had he picked Lieberman. In hindsight, I'd love to see how it might've have played out. But make no mistake, there would have been a serious revolt from the base (McCain was already distrusted), & the convention would've been a disaster.

Fair or not, there would have been a huge revolt. His campaign might have effectively ended right there.
