My beef w/ Facebook is that it's a waste of time for me as a content creator. Here's an example: I have about 13.4K total page "likes." Yet, this post (which is substantive, but/and not provocative or flashy) reached just 328 people...pic.twitter.com/cZuy9JsG6m

I realize that I could generate better numbers by including photos & videos--memes and trickery. I've experimented w/ that. But that's not my core deliverable. If I write something and only 328 people even SEE IT, then what's the point of investing in growing my FB following???

Let's say I wanted to expand my ability to communicate w/ my readers and listeners. I could invest in growing an email list/newsletter. I could invest more time in Twitter. There are a lot of options. But--as it currently stands--why would I EVER spend time and money on Facebook?

You don’t necessarily need to use trickery, but a catchy one line header would have helped a lot. Think of it as a sort of title.

If you can trip FB engagement algorithm you will be pushed into feeds, which will jump post reach dramatically without paying.

Or more Killary memes, those also do great with FB.

Repost it with a photo and see what happens. Photo(s) absolutely generate interest, grabs the readers attention. I don’t follow politics on Facebook like I do on twitter. ❤️🇺🇸

I bailed altogether on Facebook by the end of 2017. Curating news and longer form content through Twitter and Google Play is just so much easier and more effective. Facebook felt more and more like going to a yard sale, sifting through junk, to find something you MIGHT want.
