Two things to say: 1) no one is asking for “all the guns”, but instead AR-15s & their cousins. 2) Rubio’s showing some courage but trying to have it both ways. He can support the 2A without taking $ from a lobbying group that’s now putting out vile, disgusting propaganda...NRA.

"trying to have it both ways" is a pejorative for doing something productive that actually passes the necessary 60 votes in Senate. There is a wide chasm re guns, with barely any consensus. Rubio trying to get these divergent groups to do something in the middle is a good thing.
-
Didn’t say it wasn’t good. It is. But as the NRA gets nastier & nastier, those taking their $ are being tainted by association among this movement to fix gun violence problems. He’ll likely have to break that connection to be taken seriously by those who seek serious solutions.
-
-Concur: NRA's behavior has been brutal. -How I look at this situation is that in this highly partisan environment, anyone trying to meet people halfway to come up with moderate legislation that has a chance to pass is a major improvement on the dysfunctional environment.

btw, thanks for the reasonable conversation.

ANYTIME, my friend!

Probably because he is an intelligent conservative Christian who clearly expresses his messages. For leftists, that is threatening.

He is a spineless fraud enabling trump

Hardly. He's often a Drumpf critic.

He thought the leak about congratulating Putin was worse than the congratulating

-
For the good of our government, it was.
-
trump is destroying institutions that check his power yet that leak was awful

-
He is not and cannot destroy our institutions. See the 3 branches of government to illustrate.

Rubio is already backing away from his promise to support raising the age limit and absolutely will not support banning high capacity magazines. He filibustered a fix to the private sale loophole that has 90%+ support. He is a phony who will never get serious on this issue
-
This article is terrible. He promised the grieving parents to do the bare minimum, signals that he won’t even do that after all, and we’re supposed to view him as some martyr to common ground?
-
What he is doing is trying to work in the current reality that Americans are deeply divided on the issue, & coming up with solutions that a majority of them (and their congressional representatives) can get behind. It's what Senates of the past would do.
-
He filibustered universal background checks. Don’t be a rube. He isn’t sincere on this issue and is already backing away from promises made
-
I'm talking about since the shooting. Please be polite, I was professional and polite. Otherwise, we can end this conversation, and I wish you the best.
-
He’s made one promise since the shooting, to raise the age, and now seems to be backing away from even that. To me this weasel politics is even worse than being an honest NRA lackey, which is in truth what he is
-
Has he shown any willingness to allow a vote on closing the private sale loophole since the shooting?
