The point is that our-of-character scandals that surprise supporters matter more. In the case of Trump, his supporters aren’t terribly surprised by this, thus, it hurts him less politically. This is why Bill Clinton survived impeachment. Is this a foreign concept?

I respect your view and your knowledge of the political situation. It is with reluctance that I disagree--not with the idea that Trumpers give him a lot of room to misbehave. I believe they are in denial, and once the circumstances intrude too much they will be in crisis.

Here is the test: Ask a Trumper whether he has his weaknesses and dalliances. They will say yes. Ask them whether Trump is a chiseling lying scumbag. They will say no. As the facts point to the latter, their support will wane.
