One thing that’s left out: the cost of mental health treatment. Even if a parent is able to force their child to get treatment, it’s really expensive. For me, a therapy session (usually an hour long) is a $40 copay.

Me too! My psychiatrist just switched to cash only. & you know the reason behind it? The insurance companies are starting to audit their patient records. It’s becoming “too much work” for the drs.

Security for protection looks a lot like security for confinement & our schools should not resemble prisons. We need more funding in education so teachers have smaller classes, adults can connect w/students & more social service resources are availble in school so kids don't 1/
