Here’s how we could actually stop the horrible trend of school shootings. It’s complicated, and would require the right and left to take this problem seriously. http://thebea.st/2ocWLYd?source=twitter&via=mobile … via @thedailybeast

If law enforcement and judges wanted to, they could reduce gun crimes by at least another 50% just by enforcing existing gun laws. We don't need MORE laws.

Matt, much of your article makes sense. Sure hope “someone” develops political courage to take action beyond Thoughts & Prayers. I disagree on arming teachers. Pls read powerful article from a teacher👇https://twitter.com/victoriastudio2/status/965270513336582144 …

With exception of armed teachers, suggestions are largely good. The flaw is that for all the “reporting” of mental illness or aggressive conduct, if there’s no thorough background checks, it doesn’t matter. True-LBJ/Civil Rts; Nixon/China..but both were men w balls & intellect.

I don't agree with arming teachers, otherwise we have to start somewhere. I watch BBC & Acorn with my grandson & we marvel at how the majority of their police are unarmed. We also have to stop degrading & devaluing women-approx. 1,477 women are killed each year by firearms.

gun sales spike after every shooting. Think about that. Now think about who benefits from school shootings. Yes its cynical, but they are the ones that need to be targeted.
