How do you get anything done when a capricious president cuts your legs out from under you, publicly criticizes delicately negotiated deals, moves the goal posts, & introduces new 11th hour demands and poison pills?

Ever read one of those leadership/management books? You know, one of those books by Covey, Maxwell, Drucker, et al.? Yeah, Trump is doing the exact OPPOSITE of everything they teach about being a boss.

Excellent question. Also, how do you get anything done when a capricious president is backed domestically and most of all overseas by oligarchs who don't want government to get anything done?

Easy. You vote on legislation that can pass both chambers (i.e. Graham/Durbin compromise) and dare POTUS to veto it. Either that or shutdown.

Democrats and pro-amnesty Republicans carefully negotiated a deal that game from literally nothing that he promised his base in return for millions of new Democratic voters. Sheesh.

i think we're missing sight of what seems increasingly obvious: the prez WANTS a govt shutdown.

Makes sense, the Trump Org isn’t a business, it’s a two-tier pyramid scheme with shady, mostly Russian, money men shoveling in cash as fast as Trump spends it. Trump can’t even pull a decent Madoff without help!
