Getting rid of Al Franken seems like smart politics for Dems. ...But is it—really?https://www.thedailybeast.com/the-democrats-create-a-standard-now-they-must-live-up-to-it …

No. The Dems have no moral foundation and they just gave up another seat in the Senate.

This article is incredibly depressing. Do the right thing and suffer for it. It would be nice if both sides would jettison all these people. Seems like both will only do it when it is politically convenient.

This was a tactical error and should never have happened. Franken was a straight talking senator who made a lot of enemies for calling it as he saw it. The Democrats caved to the Fascist's. Don't forget what happen 85+/- yrs ago.

Not even close. Sorry but it ALL GOES BACK to the Clintons (right or wrong). As long as Bill Clinton is still revered, still doing fundraising, endorsing candidates, etc. there will always be this cloud of "it's ok".

I think it's smart politics. The democrats need to show the republicans what is the "right thing" to do when these situations arise. Tuesday is going to be a very interesting day to see what goes on with the election. Hey I haven't seen you on Anderson Cooper lately?

Not smart politics. Naive politics. Presuming these people have scruples, any sense of fairness or honor or decency, any appreciation of hypocrisy, any love or commitment for democracy, is naivety. They have none such. They are predators. Treat them as predators.
