The fertility rate is way down. Is Trump to blame? http://thebea.st/2BpnKEV?source=twitter&via=mobile … via @thedailybeast

It’s because having a baby often sucks for the woman doing it and if that wasn’t enough society punishes her for it afterwards

The view from here says it's been an ongoing concern for decades. This is what happens when people achieve financial stability.

This is no joke... you can track the growth of the middle class with the decline in fertility. Nobody wants to have kids when they're out having a good time all the time..

Millennials are the most educated generation. People are staying single longer & having kids later. I can speak for my millennial who has no desire to have kids b/c of the costs associated. If you can't afford to leave your parents' house why would you want to be a parent?

Fantastic summation and I do support your conclusion; however, I remember having a conversation with colleagues from sociology (90’s) and the arguments for fertility rates must, like you argue to some degree, be held within the social/economic constructs.

China used policy to slow birth rates mandating one child per household.

Maybe because everyone and everything in the world is terrible, no one wants to make terrible babies.

No, but he’s not helping. Millennials don’t have as many kids because they can’t afford to and Trump’s tax policy changes would make that problem much worse.

How the hell do you have babies through a cell phone connection. The Millennials cant get their face out of the phone long enough to procreate with the other sex, plus it is so confusing who the other sex is anymore.

How about a more simple reason: 1 kids are expensive, 2. Both Parents work. 3. Life is expensive. Easy.
