Has anyone written on how "gig economy" could diminish social capital? It could atomize us & sever social connections? @swinshi @mattklewis

Unaware of research. Though for now, gig economy is too small to matter much. May not always be true.

Is there research on how traditional places of work contribute to social capital? If so, we could imagine what we might lose by going gig.

We didn't find a ton, nor did Putnam (who focused on unions and prof associations).

Imp to consider value of anti-social capital (really). A lot people (e.g., profs) like autonomy, control over schedules, less embeddedness.
