Someone asked what I thought of the tea party. While I think there were many good people with good intentions involved, I wasn’t a big fan. This is from the opening of my book, Too Dumb to Fail.pic.twitter.com/kFVlRVtBzu

The Tea Party WAS The Republican Party. A rebranding scam for meatheads who voted twice for Dubya, screamed "traitor" at his critics", and then ran like rats once it all fell apart. Hell, even Scarborough and Brooks finally admitted the Tea Party was just the GOP in funny hats.

You failed to provide the nuances and caveats for the protesters on the left. Furthermore, the left didn’t elect a incompetent criminal in response to the tea party instead the right turned further right and rejected the past decade of reaching across the aisle.

You’re equating elected officials as high as the whitehouse to activists yelling at senators at restaurants.

Most people with a healthy perspective would blame Limbaugh, hannity birtherism, and current policy not the protesters against the party controlling all three branches of government.

the Tea Party did fuel big Republican gains in Congress. The biggest drawback from the standpoint of GOP lawmakers is that it raised expectations beyond what was possible for a party that controlled one half of one branch of the government.

Your comments about the Tea Party seem almost kind and consoling compared to the vitriol you have been aiming at the people you call "the mob".

They were not "mobs" and they had an actual "cause." There is zero comparison between The Tea Party, and the scumbags burning cars, smashing windows, threatening people, spraying urine, clubbing people, tearing down statues, etc.

Good intentions like the one who killed that little girl at the border, but I mean those liberals are the ones you need to watch out for.

One of the only things I disagreed with in that book. The TEA Party protests were nothing more than a group of citizens expressing their anguish about a big government that had become too far removed from first principles and a party too far removed from the principles of Reagan

Matt on the Tea Party: "many good people with good intentions involved" Matt on people protesting the appointing of a Justice, who lied under oath, by knocking on a door: "mob" Where are the caveats for them? Do you not think the sexual assault survivors protesting were good?
