No, it's not. It's a symbolic act of banging on the doors they've locked out of. That's not mob like, at all. To genuinely think o/w,yYou'd wither have to be a moron (which you are not), or totally trapped in a predisposed perspective to see any of this as a mob, or mob-like. /1

-
Think about it for 2 seconds: Tens of thousands of ppl protested over the course of weeks - *10 of 1000s* over *WEEKS* - w/o a single act of violence or a single injury. You can't have weeks of gigantic mobs & no one ever does anything violent. That's just not how mobs behave. /2
-
In that context, it is incredibly (intellectually, or actually) dishonest to go searching for one visual that bears the faintest possible resemblance to something a mob *might*, but in an entirely diff't fashion to justify using the word "mob." /3
-
Calling it that isn't just wrong; it's an utter fraud. Inherently dishonest, at least among the first wave of those pushing it. And that brings us back to predisposed perspective. I know you have no problem disagreeing w/ the GOP. But acknowledging this requires far more. /4
-
Conservatives started calling protesters violent, then quickly settled on "mob" - an even worse & *more* dishonest term, but more subjective & harder to disprove. Once settled on mob, despite it being a total & utter lie, essentially all conservatives started repeating. /5
-
So, acknowledging this is an obvs lie means acknowledging the GOP/conservative movement can get their nearly entire ranks to repeat obvs lies, essentially on command. Then you have to wonder about how much of anything they say is true & how much you've been taking on trust. /6
-
To me, this is like your experience on Obamacare, only sharper. The GOP had no "better plan/ideas". It was all a lie. But their base took it on faith that GOP leaders were acting in good faith. This is no diff't. These are angry protesters. Nothing more. See it. Say it. //

To be fair, the range of acceptable definitions is quite wide...pic.twitter.com/gZMkm7Rx0y

Yes, and Trump is trying to *brand* the word "mob". It's not what the word means, it's what Trump tells his supporters what it means.

So then every student group collectively standing up for safe schools-Mob? No violence, no arrests, no injury or deaths...just the power of many voices, since one voice isn’t enough. You’re better than this Matty!!!!

That isn't a mob. A more self-aware person would realize that even thinking this is a mob comes from a highly privileged worldview that has never had to fight against oppression.

It really isn’t. No violence, just peaceful protesting.

The line for me is pounding on doors. It can be perceived as a threatening act. They may not mean it in that way but that is subordinate to how it’s perceived.
-
It can also be perceived as pathetically immature and patently insane.
-
sure but that's not a mob. I think the term mob is advancing the notion that some of us, and maybe we are now in the minority, want civility and want to hear both sides of a rational argument on real issues.

Welp, we don't see any cars plowing through the police, do we?? What the hell is protesting if it's not an angry mob?? No molotov cocktails. No rock throwing. Yes, an "angry mob" is pounding on a door, symbolically. Perhaps it would have been more effective to throw ice?
