Just purchased the book. Yours is a logical voice. We need those badly.

It's your constant false equivalencies that are the problem, and pretending right-wing idiocy is due to radical liberalism is absurd. Obama was as centrist as they come. Conservatives acted like he was a literal devil.

Mr. Lewis, there are reasons to believe you're Trumpist. Lindsey Graham also called Trump a kook in the past, look where is he now

It’s the false equivalencies I can’t abide. As well as the constant refusal to give conservatives any sort of agency. They alone are responsible for their unhinged reactions to Obama.

Keep being fair minded . It doesn’t go unnoticed . I wish the tribe mentality would stop. It makes having rational dialogue impossible.

The Reagan Revolution? You mean the part where he made old white guys richer? I totally see the comparison now.

Pro tip: If you dont want to be labeled a Trump apologist, quit being one.

Maybe because the latter criticism tends to lack substance (see: this tweet of yours).

You're sometimes right (as in correct) and sometimes wrong. People endorse the good and take issue with the bad. Not seeing unfairness here.

Pick better battles Matt. Everyone is pissed. So when you pick any side publicly then be ready this is what will happen

Cool, right? I had a friend tell me I was an extreme right wing radical despite the fact that I left the GOP and did not vote for Trump.

Your false equivalency is the issue here.

How would you compare the Left and the Right as far as tone when they criticize you? And more Left wing critics or Rightwing?

It could just be because you are a Trump apologist.

I feel your pain Matt. You're right. Keep the faith. Sadly, in our polarized environment, speaking the truth fairly, in the end, will offend almost everyone. However, our obligation is to the truth.
-
What truth has he spoken that he's criticized for? I follow him because he often has a good head on his shoulders. Then sometimes he's way off. Getting criticized for that is to be expected.
-
If you say anything with any conviction, in toady's environment, you will likely offend and be criticized. Criticism is a good process for evaluating positions. However, it can also be unbalanced and unfair. The CNN mantra of "peaceful protestors can't be a mob is absurd.
-
The idea that a "liberal mob" led us to where we are is what people are pushing back on. And rightly so
-
To justify illegal acts? - trespassing, stalking, harassment and criminal confinement? That's not "peaceful protesting." What does that have to do with "where we are"?
-
I'm not sure exactly what you're referring to, but recall integrating lunch counters was illegal
-
Not false Monica. However, it was a crime and the protestors knew it and were willing to go to jail. They protested the restaurant's practice of segregation (as well as civil rights globally) - not losing an election. MOST importantly, it was non-violent and threatened no one.
-
The protesters Matt pictured in a tweet earlier was of Kavanaugh protesters pounding on the S.Ct. door. That meets all of your criteria. That "mobs" are violently protesting the election is false and well beneath what I understood to be Matt's standards.
