People don't tune into CNN to have their narrative harshed.

Tell me, is it Left or Right to reach the conclusion that a sitting federal appellate judge who lied repeatedly under oath last week in testimony before a Senate committee is unfit for judicial office?

It’s so aggravating to me that people can’t seem to deal with things that go against what they want to hear right now. This just keeps pushing people further away. So many things you say like this aren’t controversial and usually aren’t even opinion, they are just honest.
-
They're honest only in the narrow context of the political game. But because Matt is aligned with one side, such statements (in this case) seem to support the idea of confirming Kavanaugh no matter what happened.
-
But he’s speaking as a political analyst on a specific topic. He wasn’t making broad assertions about our society at large.Taking people out of context doesn’t help prove a point, it just increases anger on both sides. And in that context he is right Democrats won’t change position
-
He's speaking as a partisan conservative political analyst. His subtext is that the left is being unreasonable in disliking an one-week investigation. It's a thread that runs through his entire body of work on this account. Seem reasonable, but overturn Roe v Wade.
-
I don’t understand what you are having an issue with I guess. He isn’t a reporter. He is paid to express opinions held by the right. He’s not supposed to be neutral. And the left is acting the way he stated. Idk what Roe has to do with this particular statement
-
1/ Trump wants to overturn Roe v Wade. I'm pretty sure Matt (a Catholic, as is Kavanaugh and 4 current justuced) is on board with that. Kavanaugh would be a conservative replacing the Kennedy swing vote. Matt may be anti-Trump, and make factual statements, ...

The week time limit isn’t the problem. A thorough investigation would show many classmates know he was excessively drunk many times they saw him. That supports Ford. Important corraboration - as are stmts to her therapist, which are given great evidentiary weight under law.

Maybe the better point would have been that Flake is trying to clarify the truth rather than appease. But since everything is political, it would seem you would have also stated that no matter how incriminating the findings are Lindsay Graham will still vote yes.

It would be enough if I thought there weren't serious constraints. I trust the good people at the
@FBI to make a thorough investigation within the confines of their orders, and even do so in a week, but right now I don't trust the orders.Thanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo

Saying that a one-week investigation is insufficient is a reasonable position. For a decades-old set of incidents. Where many witnesses are aligned with the accused. The unreasonable part is setting an artificial deadline for a Senate vote.

A legit 1 week investigation will satisfy those of us resigned to a conservative Justice because we know how to count, but are appalled by the lack of adherence to the std confirmation process. We won't support Kavanaugh, but will feel better about the process (still want docs).

I think Flake's move is less about convincing any senator than it is about making a public case (especially to independents) that they didn't ram his nomination through, that they gave the allegations a thorough looking-at.
