Being drunk is fine. The drinking questions go to whether he could have committed an assault but honestly believes he did not. That would square the allegations with his outrage. Evidence suggests that is a possibility (& he lied about it), so the FBI should try to run it down.

What if they find numerous people who say he got wasted all the time, but zero evidence of an attempted rape?
-
Then he lied under oath. Why lie about drinking if the other claims are false? That's the investigatory perspective, which doesn't really matter. If they don't find compelling evidence of assault, the big 3 will vote to confirm. Just saying it's a valid angle, not shaming.
-
What did he lie about? He said he drank beer and sometimes he drank too many?

"Getting drunk doesn't make you a rapist." True, but it does go to Kavanaugh's credibility as a witness based on his testimony on Friday.
-
He went out of his way to say he drank beer all the time. Confirming that doesn’t do anything. Now, if they can prove he attempted rape...
-
Yes but it also goes to the allegations that Ford, Ramirez, and Swetnick has made, And I'd suggest that his credibility as a witness is highly relevant to his fitness to serve on the Supreme Court.

Doug... this is a reach. He stated that he has drank to excess but never blacked out or sexually assaulted anyone. This is pure desperation to convince “court of public opinion” it is correlated... slippery slope logical fallacy.

Two different things. Kavanaugh was not only inebriated but there was misconduct as well. I think he deserve the serious consequences.
-
What evidence has been produced that demonstrates misconduct?

Strong independent women have come forward who have no axe to grind and nothing to gain.

Just saying you didn't do it doesn't make you not guilty
-
I have no idea if he’s guilty or not. If he is, we should see some evidence.

Agree.

In corporate America there is such a thing as avoiding even the appearance of being unethical. It amazes me how government people seem to avoid minimum standards many of us are held to daily. Kavanaugh should be disqualified for his own statement.
-
I am tired of Democrats being blamed, if Kavanaugh had something questionable in his background he should never have accepted the nomination.

The more affluent they are the more their bad behaviors are overlooked. For many people, like Lindsay Graham, it doesn't matter if he did do it. We are seriously only talking about 3 senators, even if there is a smoking gun.
