IMHO, a lot of center-right Americans were turned off by Trump. A moderate/sane/moral Dem Party could have picked up some of these good folks. But w/ nobody competing for their support, the Left pushes them back into their original tribal/partisan GOP “corners.”https://twitter.com/CDReisswriter/status/1044691255374966784 …

As someone who quit GOP over Trump, I can say I'll likely vote GOP because of the ridiculous crap from the left

What's more, the stunt with Cruz and demonizing of Kavanaugh has my Lib friends moving right. So

You love Trump. You don't have to pretend. Republicans love Trump. Demonizing Kavanaugh, but Merrick Garland was treatment was cool? Don't pretend you have morals.

Bret Stephens hit it dead on today re. Cruz. Not sure any center-right person in America has a lot of empathy for Cruz. Pretty confident “would you like to see Ted Cruz get punched in the face?” would poll mid-60s, and those aren’t all Democrats.

Beto defended Ted Cruz and his family. So we get horrible representation because of a few people in DC? And you think that's being an educated voter making decisions that are best for the country? Why bother? It's any excuse.

Frankly,
@mattklewis's observation seems to imply its better for candidates like Beto to just embrace the protestors and say "well Cruz deserves it." Moderates aren't going to vote for him anyway, might as well get as much of the radical left as you can. -
I don't really think that's his nature. Cruz would. Beto wouldn't.
-
Yes, but Cruz will win and Beto won't, so. There's that.
