To a degree, this strikes me as a norm-breaking move (traditionally, the nominee would probably remain silent and have surrogates make the case for him). But I think we live in norm-breaking times.

I’m assuming the Trump team is involved in coordinating this. But if not, Kavanaugh is giving Trump what Trump wants to see—a fighter. Makes it much less likely Trump will abandon him (even if it turns out doing so would have been smart).

Honest q (I follow and admire all your work!): I agreed that Dr. Ford should testify first so that Mr. Kavanaugh could respond to said accusations. However, does Mr. Kavanaugh's presence on fox tonight not upend that method? Just curious!!
-
I believe it would be fair for Dr. Ford to also appear on TV—if she chooses.
-
Omg, thank you so much for your response!! One of the few benefits of twitter - made my day! :D

Being on Fox will only create a more animus and cement the belief that he is 'all in' for Trump. He would do well to call for an FBI investigation and clear his name that way.
-
Yea he should totally call for an FBI investigation after they've already said they have nothing to investigate. Not even dates, locations, times, confirming witnesses (all named "witnesses" have, under penalty of felony perjury, denied these accounts). /s

Maaaaatt. I normally like you and think you're a pretty straight shooter but I can't get over anyone's acceptance or normalization of the process the Republicans are adhering to in the face of potentially alienating more than half the population.
-
Seems like
@TheDemocrats and their antics are the folks alienating half the population...https://news.gallup.com/poll/242906/republican-party-favorability-highest-seven-years.aspx … -
I'm talking about women, sir. Not left or right. Women.
-
Women can be liars. See
@SenWarren for an example. Or@HillaryClinton -
Y’all said
@realDonaldTrump’s Access Hollywood take woule alienate women. You were wrong then. And you’re wrong now. Women who think rationally can see the smear job against#Kavanaugh. Your partisanship just blinds you to it. Nice hair. -
Not one time did I insult YOU, sir, but I'm not surprised that you did. Have a nice day. Thanks again for your service.
-
How did I insult you? I genuinely like your hair.
-
Every other sentence in there basically insulted me because I AM clear and rational thinking, and I think this process stinks to high heaven. So I'm sorry that I didn't believe you'd be genuine in a compliment. Thank you.

I disagree, Matt. His denials are scripted and weird. He focuses on witnesses not corroborating her story instead of expressing personal humiliation, outrage, disgust, & emotion. He keeps repeating a robotic "i have never sexually assaulted anyone or otherwise....blah blah blah."

Is that really what this boils down to - who controls the narrative in the media............what about justice and clarity - for both parties?

I think he's single-handedly proving that the supreme court is no longer an independent arm of government and has given up on acting like it. If we're sharing.

The right thing would be asking for an FBI investigation.
