I think it will depend on who runs, it’s not so much about party anymore as personality. Now no one will admit that but not much about Trump is actually republican and never has been.If someone like Seth Moulin can get the nomination then maybe he can pull over some republicans

I will need to read the article, but I do have one question: if all the #NeverTrumpers leave and become Democrats and the GOP becomes a Trumpist party with all the downsides that bring, and our system remains a two party system, is that good for democracy?

One of my favorite classes at UNC was when @FerrelGuillory, a true gentleman of journalism, talked about voting in Louisiana in 1968 and hearing people split between Wallace and Nixon. I am curious if Clinton will be a kind of bridge candidate for some #NeverTrump Republicans.

It could be a good influence on Democrats too. And it may save Democracy. May lead to cooperation and compromise. Golly..outrageous huh?

I could never share a party with Bernie Sanders or Ocasio-Cortez. I’m too far from them politically. But I sure as heck can’t share a party with Donald Trump. Something new must rise up from this. It can’t be nationalism vs socialism. That leaves out too many Americans.

Three choices: (1) stay with the GOP, which will continue to be home to the Trump Cult for the foreseeable future, (2) join the Democratic Party, strengthening its centrist constituency, or (3) create a new party — a hard path.
