What if the conservative movement had been this effective at supporting serious young conservatives who *didn't* want to be judges? ...What if there was a Federalist Society for conservative health care wonks?https://twitter.com/nytdavidbrooks/status/1016670471998394368 …

Who knew conservative legal minds were more strategic and long-term thinkers than the donor class?
-
I also wonder how much the Catholic intellectual tradition plays into this long-term, strategic thinking.

I was just contemplating the intellectual vacuousness of evangelicalism on these matters. That the conservative legal community is mostly led by thoughtful Catholics and the Tomi Lahren contingent are often those with evangelical ties offers up a stark contrast. I wonder why.

So many young people see conservatives as living in the past, the perception needs to change to encourage more young people. They seem to have gotten stuck in the mold of being a regressive party, always undoing what Democrats have done instead of building a different future

Her only 'training' is how to coordinate her lipstick with the US flag. But I get your meaning.

Great point. I thought the same thing after reading
@nytdavidbrooks's column. We should let issues lead the way, instead of personalities. Put issues front and center & raise the level of public debate as conservatives. The question, how? Who leads this in today’s climate? Thanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo
