Sure; my concern is not for my brothers-in-law (gay) who were able to wed or my other gay family members, or that despite the fact I am Pro Life we might be demonizing poor women without access to healthcare - it's that Barrett is an attractive woman #misogynistic #shallow

There you go again trying to protect people who have identities that are different than just a straight white man. Identity Politics!!!
-
All politics are identity politics. Think about it...
-
I think Matt was using some satire. But you are right. Aren't human rights, human existence, access to resources to live, all attached to identity politics?
-
That's what the no-struggle-but-class-struggle lefties don't get: all politics are identity politics, class itself is an identity, and class is a far weaker identity than race/creed/culture when it comes to electoral motivations.
-
As a liberal I agree that 'class' identity is not a strong indicator of how people vote. Most liberals understand that!
-
Exactly. If class was as strong an identity as the far left thinks, FDR wouldn't have feared helping poor blacks as much as poor whites and the Southern Strategy wouldn't have worked at all.

Millions of people are terrified about what might happen to civil rights, human rights, and democracy in this country. It takes a special kind of sociopath to talk about 'trolling the libs' with something this serious. Sorry your parents never loved you, man. Get therapy.https://twitter.com/mattklewis/status/1014090709517860864 …

That is exactly what I thought. Conservatives have shown their true faces.

Wow! Do we ever talk about men in this light? I usually have respect for his ability to be thoughtful and thought provoking on both sides...but this!? No.

Yes how about her opinion that she doesn’t want to follow stare decisis, a fundamental rule of court, but wants to reargue cases, ruled against the ACA, allows religion to influence her decisions-regardless of what she says. Those seem more valid, but he says she’s pretty so.

She's not qualified. At all. Taking away people's civil and human rights "to own the libs" isn't good policy. Grow up.

You should stick to writing about things you know. Liberal thought is not one of those. So what do we think? Any SCOTUS nominee from the current illegitimate POTUS is illegitimate. Also, any nominee who will overturn Roe is a non-starter. Looks, gender, etc. mean nothing on this.

You're a pretty sick individual if your joy in life is thinking someone might get less rights than what YOU think they should have. Typical GOP thinking & so much for freedom.

This is a stupid thread. Talk about qualifications, not the divisiveness. This woman is clearly unqualified, but then again Kennedy was very qualified and his ties to Deutsche Bank and the president are suspicious. So is it qualifications you want or just to beat each other up?
-
You know you can be "technically qualified" and STILL have questionable actions, right? No question Kennedy was qualified. But I think it's fair to say there are some questionable things here. Judicial independence and integrity are essential for judges.
-
Was my point about Kennedy, he was technically qualified but his morality is suspect
