There are a whole bunch of bad places this may eventually leads. Among them: Vigilantism, harassment, polarization, uber-politicization (the sense that your politics defines you), clashing ‘paramilitary’ forces, cases of mistaken identity, targeting families & children inhumanity

Agree. It’s a slippery slope which can get out of hand very quickly. Peaceful protest, yes. Harassment, no. I’ve seen damages by riled up civilians which hurt people indiscriminately. It’s a shame @potus doesn’t observe civility & restraint. Sane folks shouldn’t imitate him.

You’re smarter than this false moral equivalence. This isn’t a normal administration, and, just like in the 60s, politics isn’t always a polite debate

If they’ll show up at a restaurant, they’ll show up at a soccer game or piano recital. This could get bad.

Unfortunately, we've already witnessed many negative choices you mentioned. Polarization & uber-politicization are in full force & vigilantism just over a year ago at Simpson Field in my city. Not sure how our society can turn back quickly enough from the precipice before us.

I guess "political cause" is one way to describe fascism.

If you can refuse to bake a wedding cake for a gay couple, you can refuse service to a Trump minion. Or a smug 'Pundit' that thinks he's a world class thinker and a political moralist!

I agree that inciting private citizens to harass administration officials in public is unacceptable. However, what do you think about calls for them to face professional consequences in the future? Some of the senior leadership might warrant it.

I agree with you on the dangers. The GOP committed to this path when it allowed Donald Trump to take over the party. There is an unfortunate determinism that stems from that choice- for many this will become about survival.

i think you are over-reacting a bit there tbh what happened to Sanders wasn't just a case of a reaction to her working for an "unpopular" politician, it was because of the sheer scale of the lies and deceit she represents, and the tacit support of some truly abhorrent acts
