There are a whole bunch of bad places this may eventually leads. Among them: Vigilantism, harassment, polarization, uber-politicization (the sense that your politics defines you), clashing ‘paramilitary’ forces, cases of mistaken identity, targeting families & children inhumanity

There are 2500 kids without parents right now, there might be better utilization of your time.
-
yeah, they should be reunited with their families in their home countries. A happy ending ...

People should not be getting screamed at, impeded, or harassed, but being RESPECTFULLY refused admittance/service in order to maintain peace & the comfort of patrons & employees is a business's prerogative. BTW, PLEASE stop calling this political differences; it's a MORAL divide.
-
If you are equating the political differences between Republicans and Democrats as moral differences, you're probably contributing to the problem. Take a step back, breathe deeply, and figure out a way to do better.

You’ve never taught kindergarten & have seen how scared the 5 year olds are that 1st morning when their parents leave. Find the kids.
-
He didn’t say we shouldn’t find the kids. I believe he said - don’t give in to mob mentality while we try to stop this administration from doing things like this. If no side manages to hold the moral high ground during the Trump admin/crisis, we will all lose.
-
This is victim blaming. American Civil discourse has been under attack since Dotard led chants of "Lock Her Up!". Why are you only complaining now? The national discourse is being sullied by the POTUS daily and you worry about a restaurateur that politely refused service?
-
I won't speak for Matt (but think I could on this subject), but my complaints about Trump and his minions has been almost constant. I will continue to complain about them, but I will also implore our side to not adopt his style and tactics. That's how he wins.
-
OR, he wins through a combination of a gerrymandered system, systemic voter suppression, racism, misogyny, foreign interference and outright ignorance. Or liberal incivility in the face of
#BabyJails. Both sides, etc. -
I meant "wins" in the sense that we buy into the idea that loudest/meanest win. Election part is easy - everybody who hates Trump needs to vote for the same person (listen up, 3P supporters!). If we become a**holes too, who cares if we win? We need to be a society worth saving.

But it *is* different this time. DeBlasio is on Morning Joe right now talking about infants taken from the border to NY. Nobody knows who they are, where their parents are, etc. So civility will have to take a back seat for a while.

Baby jails = being asked to leave a private business. This boys and girls, is called a false equivalency. Cool meme, tho. At least they didn't ask Huckabee to bake anyone a cake, amirite?

imagine if Americans had this belief in 1860, 1941, or 1967. Sometimes politicians and politics lead to consequential events
