I feel like parenting and drinking go hand-in-hand.
Tom Wolfe would be amazing but difficult.
Yes. Hard to book him.
I have not seen that bio of Thoreau. Recommended? (He's always fascinated me.)
Haven’t gotten into it. Yet...
Thoreau, Reagan, and Hannah Arendt would all be pretty big gets. If unavailable, you should definitely have @monacharenEPPC to talk about her new book, Sex Matters.
Meacham is a great interview.
Yeah his HW Bush biography is wonderful.
Thanks - was trying to figure what books I was gonna read this summer. Just got a few good ideas.
Us Vs. Them by @ianbremmer is a solid - and short - read
Already read it
Finished @JonahNRO Suicide of the West, @Billbrowder Red Notice, @FranklinFoer World Without Mind, and about to finish Brave New World just to lighten the mood haha
Red Notice is one of the very few books I’ve read from start to finish in one sitting. Great read.
I just ordered A Short History of Drunkenness. As much as I’ve enjoyed reading the last few books, I need a change of scenery for my mental health haha
Haha. I’m currently reading The Future of War by Lawrence Freedman on my patio. So uplifting.
Thoreau, obviously.
Law never made men a whit more just; and, by means of their respect for it, even the well-disposed are daily made the agents of injustice. Henry David Thoreau, Civil Disobedience
Keith Hernandez!
Did you read it yet @AdamRadman? Been meaning to pick it up.
Not yet. I’m saving it for my vacation in August. I expect I will not be disappointed.
