Lunch today w/ a pol. operative who’s working on a GOP primary in the south. He says the number one question his candidate gets is on sanctuary cities. The number two most frequent question is, “Do you stand w/ our president?”

Understandable. So many people are against Trump, average folks think if he had a few more people in his corner he could do good stuff. Never Trump moralizing is out, working with the @POTUS to save America is in.

I want someone who isn't afraid to criticize King Trump.

Your perception is off, how could you say Trump is a king when everybody in the news media, Hollywood, and the leadership of the Dems and GOP are against him? Trump on an island.

He refuses to apologize for anything. He's a bully to our allies in Canada & UK but praises dictators in Russia and North Korea. He can't keep his big mouth shut against the NFL and lies about the players. He's thin-skinned about people making fun of him.

Sanctuary cities are such a burr under their saddle. I live in one. Our crime rate is not disproportionately high. His base is just so mad that other ppl might have the same freedoms/safety that they did nothing to earn but be born on the right side of an imaginary line.

That is helpful. Just today I was preparing my list for GOP candidates up for re-election. I was going to ask #1 Position on Border Policy and #2 Views on the President's use of hyperbole, conflation and untruths. Then, probably WALK-OUT.

The Founders set up the entire US as a sanctuary from bad government and often spoke of it.

Federal immigration law is unConstitutional, and always has been. The Founders would have gone into complete revolt over ICE invading states to evict people over the will of the States.

Alas, no voter ever asked a politician what they were doing to safeguard their constituents' honor in the textbooks of future historians. . .but they should start.
