Just can't avoid that "both sides" bullshit, can you?

Basic acknowledgement of the madness Republicans participated in under Obama will have to happen in order to get past it. The 'both sides' thing is a non starter.

You dismiss the core reason Obama took certain actions, while absolving Republicans of their part in it. I shut down so fast...I just can't hear it. Nevermind the irritating whataboutism with the Clinton's. I was a Republican and never voted for Bill. But now I'm "the left".

The biggest issue is the fact Congress has willingly decided to abdicate power to the executive. They've also decided it's a-okay for the government to be involved in issues it's got no business to be involved in (immigration is one of them). I want govt. to follow Constitution.

We agree. But didn't one side make a conscious decision not to do this? I remember cooperation under Reagan, Bush, Clinton...and yet our first bla....oh well...

There actually were signs both signs were working together during Obama (see some of the justice reform stuff). The big issue is, well, politics. When you have politicians so focused on winning the next election they have to look good for voters.

As a person who supported Republicans, I happen to know that racism has no party, but it was cultivated and used to hinder Obama's success. I voted for him because I saw a flexibility in him. I blame the GOP for our broken system.

Dems want to believe that we dropped into this place, with no participation by them. How dare you interject?

Obama used Executive Power to help Dreamers and Trump wants to use Executive Power to Pardon himself. GOPers say this proves both parties are equally bad. That's "both side" ism at its very best and at its worst for American politics. This is why we have Trump.

I'm not sure the founders thought Mitch McConnell would decide not to work with the POTUS on anything on day one, including not confirming a perfectly competent judge.
