I'd have to respectfully disagree here. The WA is to a large extent about winding down EU law in the UK and commitments made under it. Therefore, there is a valid case for ECJ role. An FTA is not at all about that, as shown by precedents. Agree may be different on security.

But under the WA mechanism isnt ECJ only engaged if a Q of interpretation of EU law arises? So bigger Q for UK in p2 is how much EU law content do they want in it (presumably very little, but under LPF possibly quite a lot)?
