Silicon Valley executives and private equity have spent the last fifty years offshoring production and helping to hollow out the U.S. government. Engineering and technology is powerful. But engineering and technology does not have to be embedded in inflexible monopolists.

Silicon Valley execs didn't get the supply chain stuff right *at all.* If they had we would be able to make things here in large quantities. There is a ramp-up and that's exciting to see, but that's because nature has imposed the policy constraints SV execs fought against.
