  1. Just rewatched Jim Webb's response to the State of the Union in 2006. There's such a difference between someone who actually can write giving a speech and every other generic Dem blatherer.

  2. Sure, whatever, give Rush Limbaugh the Presidential medal of freedom. Biden got one just because Obama was feeling saucy one day. As Jerry Seinfeld said, awards are stupid.

  3. Big Structural Bailey energy tonight.

  4. I'm caucusing for these guys.

The argument and evidence is in chapter nine. I made the point, people don't agree, so I'm pointing to sourcing in case people want to see the original arguments. Here's C. Wright Mills and his use of the arguments of a Kraft executive dismissing small businessmen.

  6. Just going back through the archives, it appears libertarian 's understanding of institutional realities vis-a-vis China and economic power turned out to be, shall we say, poor. See this debate with conservative .

  7. According to this Hill-HarrisX poll Trump is at 32% with black men.

  8. 1. I write a lot about monopoly power, but what I don't usually do is offer things you can do about it. But today I will. This is on something that many scholars and activists have worked on, called a non-compete contract. A non-compete is a favorite toy of the Bob's.

From his web page just now. Maher is embedded in the Dem establishment, despite a blog post on a blog that no longer exists says.

  10. Watch . Cancel culture is not justice, it is authoritarianism wearing the costume of tolerance.

  11. 4. Basically with software we're in the opening stages of the Jaws theme song.

  12. 6. Here's a 1958 letter from the Director of Research for the AFL noting a friend at the big business group Committee for Economic Development saying, "Galbraith ain't so bad. After all, he is to the right of the AFL-CIO."

  13. This piece from on seems relevant.

  14. One point we didn't get to discuss was how at Davos there's a lot of support for Trump, and a lot of support for moderate Democratic candidates. Sure there's partisan bitterness, but everyone at Davos is a member of the Green Party. 💵💵💵

  15. In which , and I say very nice things about JP Morgan CEO Jamie Dimon. Hard to find a nicer and more compassionate warrior for social justice. Not all billionaire bankers at Davos wear capes.

Not really even that. "It is part of the vanity of the modern man that he can decide the character of his economic system. His area of decision is, in fact, exceedingly small."

No, your critique was specifically that I noted 'as an aside' that A&P cut a deal with labor and that I wrote this as nothing but "opportunism." That's just a false caricature. I specifically noted the larger deal you imply I neglected. Here are passages from the book.

  18. You said my argument was that the New Deal was "all antitrust." False. You either didn't understand the argument or didn't read the book. Either way, you can't judge a cooking competition without taste buds.

  19. I wrote a lot about labor unions in Goliath, both how Henry Clay Frick battled them using corporate scale and the alliance between small business and labor during the New Deal. It’s bizarre so many on the left can’t even see the argument. Here:
